Design Approach

Located steps away from Downtown Berkeley and the UC campus, Stuart Pratt Manor provides affordable senior housing close to transit and neighborhood amenities. This occupied renovation
project included a complete makeover of the building’s exterior and common areas, and a seismic upgrade. A formerly unremarkable and low-slung main entrance was transformed with a new double height canopy and signage element. Interior improvements include an upgraded community room, efficient mechanical systems and a new palette of warm materials and brighter lighting that dramatically improve aesthetics and way-finding throughout.
